CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME - MOULDING 21ST CENTURY TEACHERS

On December 6, 2024, we hosted an interactive session with Mr. Joby Balakrishnan, a renowned NCTE Member and SCERT Resource Person, on 'Moulding 21st-Century Teachers.' He shared invaluable insights on key strategies for effective teaching, including core competencies, teacher training and development programs, and school and systemic support for teacher growth. He also delved into the new educational framework of NEP 2020, highlighting its characteristic features and their transformative impact on India's existing education framework. This expertise and experience provided a deeper understanding of the modern education system and the role of teachers in shaping the future of education. Following the session, Mr. Joby Balakrishnan inaugurated the naming ceremony of the second-year prospective teachers' camp, where the chosen name, 'നമ്മളിടം' , suggested by a prospective teacher, received widespread appreciation from our principal, teachers, and Mr. Joby Balakrishnan himself.

e-content For the e-content, I've covered the parts of speech, explaining the eight categories with examples. We discussed exercises to reinforce understanding and wrapped up with a follow-up activity to apply the concepts. The parts of speech included nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Some interactive exercises were done to help grasp the concepts better. To further assess understanding, a follow-up activity was given, allowing students to apply their knowledge.

MICROTEACHING

SKILL OF USING BLACKBOARD For micro-teaching, I chose the skill of blackboard writing and selected the topic "Nouns." After having an informal interaction with the students, I explained what nouns are, wrote the definition, and provided examples on the blackboard. Then, I wrote sentences on the board and asked students to identify the nouns. Additionally, I encouraged students to share their own examples of nouns, which I wrote on the board. Finally, I summarized the key points.

SAMANWAYAM DAY 04

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, marked the fourth day of SAMANWAYAM. The day began with a mesmerizing sunrise viewing at the horizon. We then visited Eknath Ranade and Vivekananthapuram, gaining valuable insights. Our team, Bougainville, took on the responsibility of the Programme and Isai Nila Committee under the guidance of Bindya Ma'am, and I had the honour of delivering the vote of thanks for the program. The day featured an engaging session, "A Trigger to Mind's Eye," conducted by Vinod Santhipuram, India's leading mentalist, which left many students amazed by the power of mentalism. We also visited Thiruvalluvar and his heritage, Vivekananda Rock, and explored its mathematical implications. The day concluded with the vibrant cultural program "Isai Nila," which showcased the talents of  students, leaving everyone spellbound and eager for more.It was an enjoyable experience for both students and teachers.
