WEEK 02 OF TEACHING PRACTICE

Date: 28/07/2025 to 01/08/2025 

28/07/2025 – Monday
5th Period: Class 8A & 8B had their second language Sanskrit period.
8th Period: Took class 8C and continued the lesson from the previous session.

29/07/2025 – Tuesday
1st Period: Took class 8C and taught the continuation of the chapter “A Prescription for Life.”
Had multiple substitution periods for upper classes and engaged in meaningful interaction with the students.

30/07/2025 – Wednesday
Had several substitution periods throughout the day.
Took my allotted class during the 3rd period.

31/07/2025 – Thursday
Continued the chapter in class 8C that was taught on the previous day.
Took several substitution periods for upper sections.
During substitutions, asked students to read and conducted dictation sessions.
The school also conducted a Karate class today.

01/08/2025 – Friday
Took two periods in class 8C.
Gave students notes related to the chapter previously taught.
Also had substitution periods during which students were given a drawing topic and asked to create illustrations based on it.

Reflection:
This week offered a balanced experience of teaching my allotted classes and handling substitutions. I ensured lesson continuity in Class 8C and supported learning with notes. Substitution periods allowed me to connect with other students through activities like reading, dictation, and drawing. Overall, it was a productive week that boosted my confidence in teaching and classroom management.

e-content For the e-content, I've covered the parts of speech, explaining the eight categories with examples. We discussed exercises to reinforce understanding and wrapped up with a follow-up activity to apply the concepts. The parts of speech included nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Some interactive exercises were done to help grasp the concepts better. To further assess understanding, a follow-up activity was given, allowing students to apply their knowledge.

MICROTEACHING

SKILL OF USING BLACKBOARD For micro-teaching, I chose the skill of blackboard writing and selected the topic "Nouns." After having an informal interaction with the students, I explained what nouns are, wrote the definition, and provided examples on the blackboard. Then, I wrote sentences on the board and asked students to identify the nouns. Additionally, I encouraged students to share their own examples of nouns, which I wrote on the board. Finally, I summarized the key points.

SAMANWAYAM DAY 04

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, marked the fourth day of SAMANWAYAM. The day began with a mesmerizing sunrise viewing at the horizon. We then visited Eknath Ranade and Vivekananthapuram, gaining valuable insights. Our team, Bougainville, took on the responsibility of the Programme and Isai Nila Committee under the guidance of Bindya Ma'am, and I had the honour of delivering the vote of thanks for the program. The day featured an engaging session, "A Trigger to Mind's Eye," conducted by Vinod Santhipuram, India's leading mentalist, which left many students amazed by the power of mentalism. We also visited Thiruvalluvar and his heritage, Vivekananda Rock, and explored its mathematical implications. The day concluded with the vibrant cultural program "Isai Nila," which showcased the talents of  students, leaving everyone spellbound and eager for more.It was an enjoyable experience for both students and teachers.
