TEACHING PRACTICE : WEEK 01

Date : 21/10/25 - 24/10/25

The second phase of teaching practice commenced on 21/10/25 at KPMHS, and I was thrilled to be back in the same school as Phase 1. The familiarity of the environment definitely made things easier. On the first day, I met the Head Master and submitted my attendance register. Fortunately, I was allotted the same classes as in Phase 1, which gave me a sense of continuity.

Throughout the week, I took substitutional hours as usual, in addition to my allotted classes. I'm gradually getting into the rhythm of things and looking forward to making the most of this experience. The teachers and students seem welcoming, and I'm excited to build on the connections I made during Phase 1.

Phase 2 has been a great start, reconnecting with students and teachers, and reinforcing my passion for teaching. Hands-on experiences like noon meal service and substitution periods have contributed to my professional and personal growth.

E-CONTENT

e-content For the e-content, I've covered the parts of speech, explaining the eight categories with examples. We discussed exercises to reinforce understanding and wrapped up with a follow-up activity to apply the concepts. The parts of speech included nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Some interactive exercises were done to help grasp the concepts better. To further assess understanding, a follow-up activity was given, allowing students to apply their knowledge.

MICROTEACHING

SKILL OF USING BLACKBOARD For micro-teaching, I chose the skill of blackboard writing and selected the topic "Nouns." After having an informal interaction with the students, I explained what nouns are, wrote the definition, and provided examples on the blackboard. Then, I wrote sentences on the board and asked students to identify the nouns. Additionally, I encouraged students to share their own examples of nouns, which I wrote on the board. Finally, I summarized the key points.

SAMANWAYAM DAY 04

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, marked the fourth day of SAMANWAYAM. The day began with a mesmerizing sunrise viewing at the horizon. We then visited Eknath Ranade and Vivekananthapuram, gaining valuable insights. Our team, Bougainville, took on the responsibility of the Programme and Isai Nila Committee under the guidance of Bindya Ma'am, and I had the honour of delivering the vote of thanks for the program. The day featured an engaging session, "A Trigger to Mind's Eye," conducted by Vinod Santhipuram, India's leading mentalist, which left many students amazed by the power of mentalism. We also visited Thiruvalluvar and his heritage, Vivekananda Rock, and explored its mathematical implications. The day concluded with the vibrant cultural program "Isai Nila," which showcased the talents of  students, leaving everyone spellbound and eager for more.It was an enjoyable experience for both students and teachers.
