WEEK 10 OF TEACHING PRACTICE

Date : 29/9/2025, 3/10/2025 & 4/10/2025

This week was a mix of happiness and emotions as the first phase of teaching practice was coming to an end. Monday marked the Youth Festival day, where most students actively participated in various events, and we helped arrange them. It was a great experience. On Friday, we took School Based Activity 2, where we presented a session on 'Good Manners in Daily Life' for 6th-grade students. We made it engaging by including a PPT and videos, which the students enjoyed. The same day, the SAY exam was conducted, so the full day was busy with exam duty. We also collected remaining school data to prepare for the newsletter. As we prepared to leave the school, we treated the students and gave a small gift to the English teachers as a token of appreciation for their support throughout our journey. The day was memorable and enjoyable. On Saturday, we had a regular class where we continued teaching the remaining portions. I am happy to have had such a good school environment and supportive teachers, and I'm looking forward to the days ahead.

e-content For the e-content, I've covered the parts of speech, explaining the eight categories with examples. We discussed exercises to reinforce understanding and wrapped up with a follow-up activity to apply the concepts. The parts of speech included nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Some interactive exercises were done to help grasp the concepts better. To further assess understanding, a follow-up activity was given, allowing students to apply their knowledge.

MICROTEACHING

SKILL OF USING BLACKBOARD For micro-teaching, I chose the skill of blackboard writing and selected the topic "Nouns." After having an informal interaction with the students, I explained what nouns are, wrote the definition, and provided examples on the blackboard. Then, I wrote sentences on the board and asked students to identify the nouns. Additionally, I encouraged students to share their own examples of nouns, which I wrote on the board. Finally, I summarized the key points.

SAMANWAYAM DAY 04

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, marked the fourth day of SAMANWAYAM. The day began with a mesmerizing sunrise viewing at the horizon. We then visited Eknath Ranade and Vivekananthapuram, gaining valuable insights. Our team, Bougainville, took on the responsibility of the Programme and Isai Nila Committee under the guidance of Bindya Ma'am, and I had the honour of delivering the vote of thanks for the program. The day featured an engaging session, "A Trigger to Mind's Eye," conducted by Vinod Santhipuram, India's leading mentalist, which left many students amazed by the power of mentalism. We also visited Thiruvalluvar and his heritage, Vivekananda Rock, and explored its mathematical implications. The day concluded with the vibrant cultural program "Isai Nila," which showcased the talents of  students, leaving everyone spellbound and eager for more.It was an enjoyable experience for both students and teachers.
